AdvantaPure Certifies Its Silicone Tubing & Hose to be Free of Animal-Derived Ingredients

Southampton, PA — With the justifiable concern over the safety of products that come into contact with pharmaceutical, food, beverage, and chemical ingredients, AdvantaPure is pleased to announce that several of its products — silicone tubing, reinforced silicone hose, molded silicone components, and pharmaceutical-grade TPE tubing — are certified to be free of animal-derived ingredients.

Much of the interest in avoiding processing and manufacturing components containing ingredients derived from animals involves the safety of those ingredients as they relate to infectious diseases and contamination. It is felt that the surest way to remove any risk from the finished product, whether it be medication, food, or a component of another substance, is to completely eliminate the potential for animal-ingredient contact. To accomplish this, many manufacturers insist that the components they use during processing and transfer be free of animal-derived ingredients.

AdvantaPure offers several fluid and air transfer products that meet this requirement:

• APST unreinforced, translucent silicone tubing
• APSH braid-reinforced, translucent silicone hose
• APSH-DB with double the braid of regular APSH for added pressure carrying capabilities
• APSM 4-ply, mandrel-wrapped silicone hose with polyester mesh fabric reinforcement
• APSW with the same construction as APSM and the addition of a reinforcing stainless steel wire for use as suction hose; smooth or convoluted O.D. for added flexibility
• Molded silicone components such as bottle stoppers and inserts, vessel sealing systems, sterile filling assemblies, and fittings

All silicone products are platinum-cured and meet Class VI requirements; FlexiPrene also meets Class VI requirements and is available with a Portable Heat Sealer for sampling applications.
